CTQ Tree

Full Description

The CTQ Tree (Critical to Quality Tree) is all about what needs to be measured to drive improvement in the eyes of the customer. The CTQ Tree provides a graphic to tie the progression of the requirements together. The progression starts with the Want or Need, which leads to the Drivers within the Process we must control, and then to the Critical to Quality Characteristics (CTQs) that we measure to control the Drivers. Once we know what to measure we must define what means good or bad, which is also called the specification. Typically our customers let us know what they want or need, but rarely do they define the CTQs and the specifications.

FMEA RPN and Process Sigma

eLearning Price: $ 0.00

Full Description

This Nano sized course introduces FMEA, RPN, and converting RPN to Process Sigma Level. FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is a powerful tool for identifying, defining, and quantifying root causes to operations issues. The RPN (Risk Priority Number) is calculated by multiplying the severity score times the occurrence score times the detection score. The RPN quantifies the impact of a potential root cause providing the means to rank the root causes. This is how we separate the vital few from the trivial many. Converting the RPN into a Process Sigma Level is shown in a handy table. When processes cycle infrequently the FMEA, RPN, and conversion to Process Sigma level provide the means to quantify the improvement.
  • The concept of FMEA is introduced.
  • How to use the FMEA worksheet is explained in detail
  • How to calculate the RPN is explained in detail
  • How to convert a reduction in RPN from Current State to Future State as a Process Sigma Level is explained
  • Examples are provided to illustrate the points
