Full Description
This course focuses on the skills required to work effectively in a team, how to lead a team, and how to communicate. We have found that regardless of the technical merit of an improvement solution, breakdowns in communication can defeat the implementation and derail our ability to sustain the change.
This course addresses the issues we face within an organization when we are attempting to make change. You will learn how to work effectively as a team in meetings, understand each other based upon personality profiles, how to deal with conflict, how to communicate in writing including e-mails, how to lead a team, be creative, and make decisions as a team. We often overlook these soft skills for the sake of the technical solution, but without these skills implementing and sustaining change is more difficult than it needs to be.
A toolkit is provided for conducting effective meetings, evaluating and dealing with personalities, being creative, and making decisions.
This interactive course includes numerous exercises, quizzes, and a final exam. The toolkit is available in both MS Office and OpenOffice.org productivity software suites.
This course is worth 2.5 CE credit hours.
